Geophysical Logging Exploration – Logs

The geophysical logging measurements (Logs) are performed through tubes suitable for the measurement of some physical parameters useful to the characterization of the soil and of the fluids crossed in mechanical perforations. The tubes used have a diameter of a few centimeters for which they can be inserted into boreholes, piezometers or perforations of larger diameter, such as water wells.

The measurements allow to reach very high resolutions, so as to be able to consider the recording of the parameters of interest in a continuous (loggings). The soil parameters most frequently used are those ones electrical, elastic and nuclear. The correlations allow us to collect valuable lithological indications, on the state of fracturing, the density, the porosity and permeability of grounds, useful in geotechnical and hydro geological designing. The measurements made in the underground fluids are aimed at determining the physical-chemical properties and then the qualitative and quantitative properties of the aquifers.
